Capital One Cafe in Georgetown: A modern design with a local vibe
Walk into the Capital One Cafe in Georgetown, and you’ll see that it’s unlike any other bank, ever. It’s the physical embodiment of Capital One’s mission to Change Banking for Good—a place to stress less, save more, and find inspiration in the people around you.
For more than a decade, Capital One has been re-imagining banking with its Capital One Cafes—places for consumers to refuel, relax and recharge. In September 2019, they opened the doors to their new flagship design Capital One Cafe—located in Georgetown at the corner of M Street and Wisconsin.
From inception, the Team worked to make the Georgetown Cafe warm, welcoming and a natural part of the community—from our use of local materials and furnishing to our intricate understanding of the needs and wants of the neighborhood. We pulled in artwork from hometown artists to add a colorful, local flair—and to recognize the talent within our very own community.
To honor the building’s storied past (it was originally built in 1920’s), we worked hard to preserve its history—and made it a focal point of our design. We restored the brick walls, exposed and repaired the wood beam ceilings, and repaired and matched the historic tile.
Today, locals are stopping by, cozying up—and spreading the love. The Capital One Georgetown Cafe is now among the most visited cafes in their network. Come on by—everybody’s welcome.
