Entercom Communications, the second largest radio company in the US, located its new headquarters in an industrial Philadelphia neighborhood that is amid a revival. As the city turns over a new leaf, radio is doing the same. By bringing workplace, performance, and studios together under one roof, the company is driving change by providing a multi-platform delivery experience around a common purpose.
Upon arrival an immersive tunnel-like experience evokes the adrenaline rush of a professional athlete running into a stadium of roaring fans. In conjunction, a visual depiction of the sound waves, produced when the word Entercom is spoken, made of tufted felt rolls, pulsating light and colored acrylic panels sets the stage. Past the lobby, a 30-foot nexus equipped with a jumbotron and programmable lights engage visitors. At the core is the performance space equipped with movable acoustic glass walls and stage lighting that allow shows throughout the workday without distraction. Dispersed around the community hub are glass fronted On-air studios branded for each station.
Adjacent to the performance area is a space focused on hospitality that draws all employees together. Digital totems provide additional performance views as well as live news and local sports feeds throughout the day.
Choice is a priority here. Curated graphic wallcoverings, colorful fabrics and raw materials that reflect the historic building create a variety of emotional experiences throughout the workplace.
“Make it happen anywhere” is the headquarter’s mantra. This place is where people can truly feel Entercom’s pioneering spirit, lifestyle, and everyday impact.
